Story
I’m running Leeds 10k to raise awareness on mental health. Unfortunately there are many people living today silently suffering with their own mental health struggles or know someone who is or who has lost someone through their own struggles.
Unfortunately this time last year I lost my dad. No-one knew my dad was struggling and for the people who knew my dad they would had thought he was a happy man with a lot to live for.
My dad passing has hugely effected my life, not only did I lose my dad but I also lost my best mate.
I don’t want anyone to go through what must have been going through my dads mind and I also do not want another family to go through what we have and are still going through now adapting to a life without him.
Together we CAN make a difference. No matter how bad things are, storms always pass. People must talk, I know this is always said but the power of speech is incredible please please, please never suffer in silence.
As my dad used to say “you’ll never change what’s been and gone” so let’s look to the future and together let’s fight this horrible disease and silent killer.
We miss you everyday dad x
