Story
A close friend of mine has been raising money for this charity & playing in this tournament for the last 5yrs. I have been meaning to get involved for somentime but never got round to it. This year I have decided to make time to take part & raise money to help this charity who support people who have cancer within the local area.
The personal reasons I want to get involved are that both mine & my wifes parents have had a form cancer & have been lucky enough to have it removed without any major further treatment. There are other families out there not so fortunate.
I have been given a space in a team called 'Fred Clift', which has been named after a fellow FFC supporters grandfather who was a great role model to him.
In 2002 a couple of years after retirement Fred discovered he had cancer of the Oesophagus. It was a very aggressive cancer & sadly he passed away in 2003. He left behind a wife/ daughter/ son & grandchildren. He was a much loved man who made a great impression on everyone.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. A donation of any amount is greatly received. The start of the tournament is 24th March 2016. My first match is 3rd April 2016 at 1:15pm at Fleetlands. Feel free to come & watch. All gate fees go to the charity, Adults £5 & Children /OAP £1.
Thanks for making the time to read this & for donating.
Kind regards
Danny
