Story
On Sunday 14th May I will be running 10k in Leeds to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. My older sister, Amy, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in July 2022 at just 26 years old. Following an operation, a course of chemotherapy and several rounds of radiotherapy, Amy is now on the road to recovery although the impact of this on her life will be felt for years to come. Thankfully Amy's cancer was caught early and was treatable, however, unfortunately for many women and families around the country this is not the case.
The support that Amy has received via the NHS throughout her treatment has been exceptional.
Amy - I am doing this for you. Your strength, positivity and determination throughout has been inspirational. You are not just my big sister but my best friend as well - our family is stronger with you at the heart of it and I hope you realise just how much you are loved and supported.
I have attached a link to Amy's own Instagram post surrounding her diagnosis and treatment below. She can put her own story into words much better than I can. If there is one key message to be shared from this post, it is that if you find anything out of the ordinary then please get it checked.
