TCS London Marathon 2022
Campaign by Diabetes UK (RCN 215199)
The greatest marathon in the world. For the last 85 years, Diabetes UK has been at the forefront of diabetes research. Weve discovered how to put type 2 diabetes into remission. And were working day in, day out to find a cure

Story

On 31st January 2018 I (Dan) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and my life changed forever. Currently, there is no cure for type 1 diabetes, and require to take regular injections throughout the day to manage my blood sugars.

Whilst I have managed to control my diabetes through exercise and diet, I would not have been able to get through the first few months without the excellent help of the diabetic nurses, and diabetes UK.

Type 1 diabetes does not discriminate. Whilst I am able to manage it well, there are individuals who struggle on a daily basis, and children who have to live their lives differently to their friends due to something that they did not choose to get. It is for this reason, that I am running for diabetes UK. To raise money so they can continue to help those who need their care the most and ensure that everyone gets access to the best level care possible.

I will also be joined by my good friend Tim, and look forward to the challenge ahead.
