Story
In September 2022 the man I love, Jelle Fresen, aged 37, was diagnosed with medulloblastoma. This is a very rare, aggressive form of brain cancer, most common in children. As a result of his diagnosis, we made the devastating decision that it was best to separate as a couple but I am determined to support Jelle in the ways that I can.
He is an inspiration, fighting with courage and positivity to beat this awful disease. He has undergone 17 hours of brain surgery to remove the tumour as well as 6 weeks of radiotherapy and is now going through 9 months of chemotherapy. I am going to find running a marathon very hard, having never run further than 5k (the only part I enjoy being the end) but Jelle is my motivation. If he can go through all of this, I can run a marathon.
More money is needed to fund further research into less harsh and more effective treatments for this cancer. Any money you can donate will help get us closer to a cure and further away from devastating, heart breaking circumstances like ours. So we thank you so much for your support.
disclaimer: if you look at the photos in the gallery there are some of Jelle's stapled head and his radiotherapy mask that may be upsetting to some viewers
