Story
Thanks for agreeing to sponsor me for the London to Brighton ride this year.
Some of you may remember, I did the London to Brighton Bike Ride last year. Well, I'm doing it again, on the 21st June.
Last year was a huge success. With your help and a generous donation from Ernst & Young, I raised over £1,300 for the British Heart Foundation. This year I'm raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and I'd love to be able to raise a similar amount again. Ernst & Young have once again generously agreed to match every donation made, up to the first £500.
The recent experience of a close family member and experience of friends made me want to give something back to this very worthy cause. In particular, giving people who are terminally ill with cancer the dignity to continue to live as normal a life as possible, and ultimately to spend their final months at home, whenever possible, is extremely valuable, both to the individuals concerned and to the many people around them who are also inevitably affected.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure your donation is grossed up by 25% for Gift Aid (or more, if you're lucky enough to be a higher rate tax payer), and will also add a 3% supplement to your donation.
Many thanks in advance for your kind support,
Dan
ps - for the avoidance of doubt (looking at Graham's cheeky comment below), I cycled all the way up ditchling beacon last year WITHOUT stopping. Aay-thang-yew.
