Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year a friend (Erin Mills) and I decided to push ourselves with our running in 2022, and set a challenge of completing the Southampton Half Marathon on 24th April 2022. As most of you know I am not a very good runner with my longest run to date being 10km (only done this a handful of times), so having to run 13.1miles or 21.1km is a big challenge for me.

I have chosen to raise funds for Parkinson's UK as currently my Grandad (or to us Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Bamps) is suffering from this disease. He was diagnosed a few years ago and unfortunately has spent the last 2 years in a care home.

I know this is a hard time for everyone but any donation would be hugely appreciated, whether this be now or once I have completed the half Marathon

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
