Story
At the end of April, I will be running the London marathon in memory of my Nan - the most wonderful, funny, but above all, caring person - someone who looked after so many people herself over the course of her lifetime. The staff at North London Hospice provided warmth, kindness and dignity for Nan at the end of her life, and I am raising money for them so they can continue to provide this level of care for others in the future.
Those of you who know me well will know that I was once a competitive runner, and that I even had my 30 seconds of fame at the London 2012 Olympics (thanks to the Daily Mail...)
However those days are long gone, and getting back into fitness has been a struggle. I've dealt with shin splints, shock wave therapy and the growing catcalling population of North London. Despite injury, I've decided to do the thing anyway, with the simple aim of making it round in one piece (though sub-4:30 would be the dream).
If you are able to sponsor me, it would mean the world to me - North London Hospice really are wonderful and I want to give them back as much as I can. If you are going along on the day, please look out for me and cheer me on....I'm going to need your support!
Love,
Danielle xxx
