In 2008, my grandfather James P. Marable passed away from Prostate Cancer. He battled this disease for more than 10 years and at the age of 87 there was nothing else he could do.

I remember the last moments, sitting beside him and holding his hand. I took him outside for the last ray of sun shine on his head while we waited to see if Obama was going to win the election... He was positive until the end and always concerned for his family. He asked for me and my brothers to come to his bedside and gave us all a huge hug and said, "I love my grandchildren..with a tear". My grandmother and mother came to his side and we held hands to pray.

One day later, he was gone.... he is sorely missed.. Especially by me. He was preceded in death by 2 of his brothers whom also died from prostate cancer and 2 whom had prostate cancer have also passed since his death.

Because of the negative impact this disease has had on my family, i have committed myself to raise money for the cure of Prostate Cancer!!! I have challenged myself to cycle 250 miles from London to Paris in 3 Days for the Cure!!
