Fundraising for Richard House Trust
Story
Hey everyone, myself, Stuart and Lilly are participating in a 5k sponsored Bubble rush run, we are raising money for my niece grace's hospice, Richard house hospice in east London, we are part of team grace one of a kind
My niece Grace is 3 years old and is very unique She is the only one world-wide with her chromosome deletion and with this comes many different complexities and disabilities, Grace is on 24 hour care, she has a feeding tube and emergency oxygen due to respiratory issues and requires suctioning and various other equipment including a wheelchair as she is non-mobile and she is also non-verbal, she has over 30 diagnosis's to date,
Unfortunately Grace is a palliative Care patient, she is life limited and life threatened and unfortunately we don’t know how long Grace will be here with us, It could be months or years, This completely breaks my heart, she means the world to me and my family and I'm gutted that one day I will have to say goodnight to her she is our one of a kind angel,
Because Grace requires 24 hour supervision and cannot be left unattended her care is always provided by my brother Metin & sister in Law Jade who are also parents to our nephew Archie,Metin and Jade rarely have time to spend as a family to even do the simplest of things.
This is where Richard House Hospice comes into it, They provide respite & hospice at home support, activities and events that can be attended , also they provide Sleep in facilities 12 nights per year with full time palliative carers who know Grace and are able to provide grace with 24hour care to allow for Met & Jade to have some much needed time with Archie or just some simple sleep because of cause it can be exhausting and mentally draining for them, Richard House Childrens hospice are also able to provide counselling, therapies and bereavement support as well as end of life care that unfortunately one day Grace will be provided and her last precious moments will be spent here along side us as a family,
Richard House Hospice rely purely on donations from the public and fundraising to be able to provide care and support for children like my niece grace and there families
