Story
Thankyou for coming to my page and hopefully supporting my fundraising.
As many of you may know, I lost my Dad to cancer when I was seven years old. On the 19th April 2006, my mum and I lost the most important person in our world and our lives changed forever. I remember him everyday, I miss him everyday. As I get older the pain changes but is still always there, as I grieve for him and all he will miss out on in my life.
I don’t know how to ‘do his life justice’ or even how to do something in his honour. All I know is that by doing this, even 16 years on, means people will read this story and think of him, even only for a few minutes. It comforts me that he is remembered, or even if strangers reading this page now know his name. My daddy, Stephen John Townsend, aged just thirty eight when he became my angel in the sky.
I have never been a runner… cross country was certainly never my highlight of school life. So I have decided to start small… I am doing the Southampton 10k on the 24th April 2022! One day you might see another page for a marathon (if this experience doesn’t scar me for life..)
Thank you for reading, and if you can donate, thank you so much. If you can’t, just think of him for me.
Dan
