Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I would like to raise money for joeys treatment for plagiocephaly (flat head on hes right side) he was born 8 weeks premature and as he was in nicu he had many problems but developed this as their skulls are soft and get moulded as the babies on ward are not handled alot (unless they are being tested for something) after hes many bloods, lumbar punctures, feeding and breathing issues hes was aloud home. But noticed the side of hes head was misshaped, which has got worse over time as he struggles to turn hes head now to hes good side, he is being refurred for physiotherapy to make sure he doesnt have a medical problem with hes neck muscles also. I did much research and it seems to be most affective if hes treatment starts from 4 mths old. The nhs will not fund the doc helmets as little research has been done and cost is a big factor as its approx £2000/2500. I have found a clinic that would do it but can deleay going forward without help. So i found this charity who stated they help low income families, but to my horror they have had to cease financial support but do state if we raise money on here in the childs name upon raising correct amount they will pay treatment centre direct and any remaining funds will help them in future. As they are a little known charity awareness of them is not well known. I know by several forums this medical issue is not only cosmetic problems eg jaw, ear misaligment for child but can cause sqints, learning issues and neck muscle complications. I want to do my best to give my baby the best possible chance of a normal childhood and would like to also help other people in this dilemma. So please help, even forward this on to people to raise awareness, thank you and donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
