Story
As you all know myself and Tanya are not walkers but after the success of our walk in October for another charity we are doing something similar but over the month of February!!
We are hoping to walk at least 18 miles EACH over the month of February.
George was a friend of ours with 3 young children and his superwoman wife Stephanie. Yorkshire Brain Tumor Charity were a massive help to them and George whilst he was poorly, so we are going to do what we can to give something back as a thank you and hopefully what we raise will help other families going through what poor George and his family did.
Thank you so much for reading our story. Below is an introduction into who Yorkshire Brain Tumor Charity are and what they do...
We are Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity, or YBTC.YBTC is Yorkshire's leading brain tumour charity dedicated to raising funds for life changing research and patient support.Around 9,000 new cases of primary brain tumours are diagnosed in the UK every year, 15 each week in Yorkshire. Whilst we are working to find a cure, we will provide the best patient and family support network we can.We want to make this number smaller, and make life easier for those who are affected, by:-Raising significant funds to support dedicated research projects into treating and curing child and adult brain tumours and sharing our findings with other charities.-Giving grants and financial assistance to brain tumour patients and their carers.-Arranging for hospital wards, patients and research centres to be provided with all the equipment they need.-Supporting patients and their loved ones through providing practical advice (our benefits clinic), running support groups, offering counselling and more.
