#TeamPCRC aim to raise £150,000 to provide a future for men and their families. A life without advanced prostate cancer.

Story

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page.

Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men. Over 11,000 men die every year in the UK and the number increases every year.

Advanced prostate cancer is treated with hormone therapy, developed in the 1940s. Hormone therapy is still the primary and most effective treatment for advanced prostate cancer. Consequently, survival rates have improved little over the last 70 years. New and more effective therapy is urgently needed.

The PCRC are dedicated to improving the survival of the next generation of men and better treatment can only come through research.

The disease is unfortunately hereditary on my father's side of the family and many of my male relations have had to undergo painful treatments and chemotherapy. I don't want myself or anyone else to lose someone dear to them because of cancer.

I hope the money I raise will help to fund more research into genetics, scientific and clinical trials, innovative treatments and after-care support for patients and their families.

I've pledged to raise £2500 for Prostate Cancer Research Centre - this is enough to provide one researcher with DNA sequencing kits to last one year.

It's a been a big dream of mine to run those 26.2 miles and the London Marathon on 22 April 2018, will be my biggest challenge ever.
THANK YOU so much in advance for taking the time to read my page and for your generous donation.
