Glenn's story....

In January 2018 I was diagnosed with T cell Lymphoma. Being informed you have cancer is like being smashed over the head with a sledge hammer. My Consultant, the great Dr Yogesh Upadhye elected for me to undergo a robust course of treatment involving 7 intensive periods of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant and 15 sessions of radiotherapy. Dr Upadhye’s strategy was that this would give me the best possible chance of remission and would minimise the prospect of relapse.
Thanks to Dr Upadhye and the love, unwavering support and constant encouragement of my beautiful family and friends, I am pleased to say that I am now in remission and loving life.

Lymphoma is the 5^th most common cancer in the UK and is actually the most common cancer in the 16 – 24 age group. It is with this in mind that we appreciate
the vitally important role of Lymphoma Action who provide support, guidance, help and advice to people who are diagnosed with Lymphoma and their families.

I am delighted that my good friend Danielle Richardson has also agreed to run for Lymphoma Action and we are hoping to raise a very ambitious £2,000.00 between us. Any donation (however small) would be massively appreciated.

It will be a very emotional moment just to stand on the Great North Run start line. My heartfelt thanks for your very generous support for this extremely deserving charity.

I was, like everyone who knows Glenn, devastated when he announced he had cancer. From that moment however he vowed to do all he could to beat it and it has been incredible to see his strength, positivity and determination which never wavered throughout his gruelling treatment.

Glenn is an absolute inspiration and he genuinely lives life to the full, even more so now he is in remission. We want to raise as much as we can for Lymphoma Action so that more people can have the joy of a second chance at life.
