Hi all, well to add to Sept's challenges, I'm now also doing a 10 miler for Pancreatic Cancer Action, taking place on 8th Sept at Grafham Water, Cambs :):)
Thanks for taking the time to visit one of my JustGiving pags.
This year I have set myself some challenges; the first is to take part in the Great North Run on behalf of Pancreatic Cancer Action in memory of a wonderful, amazing, man - my Dad who sadly lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in 1996 at a young age of 44.
He was diagnosed in October 1995, a week before my 15th birthday after a short time of illness, but lost his battle after just 4 months, leaving behind a loving wife and us 3 kids.
Unfortunately the 5 year survival rates for pancreatic cancer have not changed in over 40 years and it is this charity's mission to change this by way of increased awareness of pancreatic cancer within the general population, the medical community and the Government.
Simply, their aim is to get more people diagnosed in time for surgery – currently the only potential for a cure.
So please dig deep and donate now, you would be really helping a good cause. Lots of love Dani xxx
