Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After being rushed into hospital on 20th January 2015, my 53 year old Uncle Ian was told by Doctors that they could see a 'mass' on his brain. By 3rd February 2015 he was tragically diagnosed with an inoperable Grade 4 Brain Tumour and was told he had less than a year to live, at best. After grueling Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy treatment he spent 6 weeks respite at The East Lancs Hospice, before coming home to Altham to pass away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Ian described the hospice as 'heaven', and called the nurses and staff there his 'Angels'. He was so overwhelmed by their love, support and friendliness that he actually came to enjoy his time there.
We can never repay the Hospice for making my uncle feel this way, given his situation, but want to do everything within our power to help contribute to the much needed funds to keep the Hospice running. They need £3.5m a year, and rely mainly on donations from the public.
