Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well, I thought it would be a good idea to enter the London Marathon because who really gets a place right?! Well ... ME!
And although initially it felt that it had come at the wrong time, actually it is giving me an opportunity to make something good from a sad situation. As many of you will know, we very sadly lost our mum last year to cancer. For the last three days she stayed at the Phyllis Tuckwell hospice where I stayed with her and they could not have been more amazing. Nothing would have made the situation better but they did their best to make sure that my mum was looked after the best she absolutely could be.
Dying with dignity is SO important and they took everything into account that my mum wanted to make sure that she was as comfortable and as at peace as possible. As a family we really could not be more grateful about how well they cared for her both at home and the hospice.
Unfortunately places like this are not well funded and not truly recognised by all for all the good that they bring to the patient and to the families. It is so undervalued and anything that I can raise for them would be wonderful.
Oh, and I haven't quite mentioned that I am really not a runner! So this is going to be a huge challenge for me. I will try and keep you updated about runs etc but mostly I am just going to be a big sweaty mess! Any donations will hopefully keep me motivated and encourage to finish that 26(!!!!) miles!!
Thank you even for just reading this, and like I say any donations would be fantastic and words of encouragement will definitely come in handy!
