Story
Last February, my husband Ben had a serious skiing accident. He dislocated and broke his neck, leaving him temporarily paralysed. Thankfully he has made a full recovery, but he is in the minority. 70-80% of people with a similar accident are left with some sort of paralysis.
The Back-Up Trust support people with spinal injuries who are not as lucky as Ben. Their work is wide ranging and its impact cannot be underestimated.
Once Ben's recovery was confirmed, we started planning how we could support this charity whose help we came so close to needing. Along with a motley crew of family and friends we are climbing the world's largest free standing mountain in October 2013.
Anyone who knows me knows what a challenge climbing Kilimanjaro will be. Apart from my incredible laziness and lack of fitness, I hate being cold, tired or hungry. Plus I'm giving up the all-important Autumn half-term holiday!
It would be fantastic to raise at least £20,000 between the 10 of us. Please help me to reach my target of £3000. Every little helps.
Thank you in advance.
Danielle
