Type 1 diabetes is a chronic, life threatening, autoimmune condition which has a lifelong impact on those diagnosed with it and their families. It occurs when the body’s own immune system attacks the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. In the UK 400,000 people are living with Type 1 diabetes. 29,000 of them children. Each adult and child endures around 1800 insulin injections and 2200 finger prick blood tests every year - just to stay alive.
As many of you know I have been working as a regional fundraiser for JDRF since January. I can honestly say I'm working with the most committed and inspiring supporters who are so dedicated to fundraising to help us find that all important cure. So I thought it was my turn to show my dedication to the cause and my appreciation for all the hard work of my fantastic supporters by running Cardiff half marathon this year with team JDRF.
Any donation however big or small would make a huge difference, so please please please sponsor me and support me in finding that cure!
