Story
Unfortunately within my job I see the worst of society and depravity that is out there in respect of children, who are innocent victims at the hands of the misguidedness of adults. Embrace is an invalauble charity that not only supports children through their experiences with emotional and practical support, but it also offers them hope for the future and brings out their smiles again.
I ran my first ever half marathon in December 2018, despite the hilly terrain I came away with a great sense of achievement. When i saw that Embrace were looking for runners to complete the Royal Parks Half Marathon I entered my name without question as I saw it as a great opportunity to keep training and achieve goals but more importantly to help raise funds for this fantastic charity, having dealt with a number of child cases of late I just wanted to assist in some way to ensure that those affected could smile and gain trust in the world again.
In order to train for the Royal Parks Half Marathon I have decided to enter two other half marathons, which is going to be mentally as well as logistically challenging fitting training in around work and my young family in order to keep going through to October but I am completely committed to the cause.
I am particularly looking forward to the fun and experience of fundraising, which will hopefully bring in a good sum of money to donate to this fantastic charity. I would at the very least like to be able to raise at least £350, which is enough to be able to send a child to Disneyland Paris, any donation you can give to help this cause is gratefully received.
