Story
Ladies and Gentleman
After careful consideration (over a period of a decade) I have decided to run in the London Marathon on April 22nd 2012 and I need you help.
'El rotunde' has decided to put down the bacon sarnies, and a slimmer, fitter, version of Winer 37.0 is gradually appearing ready to hit the road on this 26.2 mile challenge.
I have decided to run for Macmillan Cancer Research for two reasons. Firstly my Step Dad, Steve who is winning the fight against cancer. He has been in remission for a number of years now, but they still haven't found a cure for his form of the disease. The second reason is that cancer has taken my Grandfather, Joe, and other family members have been taken from us because of it.
Macmillan Cancer Support is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and push for better cancer care.
There are now two million people – nearly double the previous estimate of 1.2 million – living with, and after, cancer according to new research released by Macmillan Cancer Support. 99% of their work is funded by voluntary donations, which is why we need your help to continue raising valuable funds to support Macmillan’s work.
So friends, I need you to support me firstly in raising money for this worthwhile cause helping those dealing with the effects of cancer! For more information take a look at http://www.macmillan.org.uk
P.S it would be great to see as many of you as possible along the marathon route. But be warned, if any of you have burgers, pies and pints in your hands, I may have to stop and have a scoff - you have been warned.
Thanks for all your support
Dan
