Last year, I joined the Community Advisory Board for the Ahwatukee branch of the YMCA.  I decided to do so when I learned about the remarkable work of the Ahwatukee Y.  Like a lot of folks, I thought about the Y primarily as a fitness center.  What I've learned is the extent of the support that it provides for our local community.   In addition to exercise programs, the Y provides child care, social programs, teen development and family services that help us learn, grow and thrive.  Much of the work of the Y is for those who are most in need, for folks who have few other options.   

Through this campaign we are working to ensure a brighter future for the Ahwatukee region. Together we will take some major challenges in our community. Your gift will help young people achieve their potential, empower community members of all ages to lead healthier lives, and strengthen the bonds of the community in Ahwatukee by helping our neighbors.
