Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
On the 23rd April I’ll be running in the London Marathon to support Notting Hill Genesis Community Foundation. The money raised will go to their hardship fund, providing assistance to families in financial crisis.
If you’re able to, I’d really appreciate it if you could donate a few pounds to support this charity, especially at a time when the cost of living crisis is causing many families to struggle with basic expenses.
About the charity:
Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) are raising money for their hardship fund which was put in place to help residents in crisis. The fund helps alleviate hardship and short-term crises, which can be anything from a fridge breaking down to being unable to afford groceries for a family or even energy to heat their home. The hardship fund also helps housing officers pay for community events, wellbeing sessions or tenancy sustainment projects that benefit their residents. The fund has played a vital role in supporting residents affected by the pandemic, funding household items, school uniforms and supermarket vouchers to those in need.
The event:
This will be my first time running a marathon, so I have busy training schedule ahead of me to complete the 26.2 mile distance. The route starts from Blackheath and ends on the Mall, weaving around the Thames and passing many of London's famous landmarks along the way.
In 2019 the event raised over £66m for charities.
