Story
So I am going to run the London Marathon!!
Who would have beleived that a tubby little child who throughout ALL of his secondary school years up to the age of 16 did not take part in one sports day and couldn't even run round the 400 metre track without stopping for breath. (That is completely true, no word of a lie)
Fast forward 10 years and I am now a very keen runner (as most of you may have seen by my constant posts on facebook, sorry).
Now is the time to complete this journey from a child who resembled Chunk from the goonies to a marathon runner.
Even though I run often do not underestimate the size of this task. The furthest I have ever run is 13.1 Miles, a half marathon. In under 5 months I have the task of doubling that!
Let's put it into context,
- That is 42,000 Metres!
- 105 laps of the dreaded 400M circuit which plagued my PE days for 5 years.
- The equivalent of running from Maidenhead town centre in a straight line to Oxford, Newbury, or further even than Hyde Park in London and Basingstoke!
Seriously, please take the time to donate to my chosen charity to help them in their work as I am going to need them when I finish.
