Running the virtual London Marathon in support of the Essex Heart Fund

Virtual London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
It is a number of years since I last attempted a marathon. I am now older, less fit and with work and child care responsibilities. However, i've taken up the challenge again to run 26.2 miles, and as I do so I wish to raise awareness and support for a worthwhile local charity.
The Essex Heart Fund is here to help save lives in Essex. It does this by funding innovative research projects and by supporting groups working in our communities to assist those with ongoing heart conditions or recovering from surgery. You can find out more about them at Essex Heart Fund Website.
This charity is close to my heart (excuse the pun) with the family having lost my wife's Uncle Steve suddenly last Christmas to an undetected heart condition, and my Granddad also passing recently but who was supported significantly in recent years by Southend hospital for his heart condition including fitting of a pace-maker.
