We develop young people's skills to help them succeed in their chosen career

Story

Hi! Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. I'm running London's Royal Parks Half Marathon to fundraise for Making the Leap, a wonderful charity which gives young people from disadvantaged areas the help and support they need to succeed in their careers.

My recent Masters' dissertation looked at the accessibility of cycling in deprived areas of Nottingham, and it really opened my eyes to the struggles people from these backgrounds face in life - not having enough money to eat, or access education, or having to juggle multiple jobs at once. That's why it's such an honour to support Making the Leap, who have helped thousands of young people from these backgrounds over the years, while also doing something I love!

(They also took me on for a week's work experience when I was only 15 or so, and apparently I'm still a legend in the office, which certainly says something about their organisation. Not sure what though)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

In the UK, many young people never get the chance to succeed simply because they happen to be born poor. We transform the futures of young people from less-advantaged backgrounds by providing training to raise their aspirations & develop their skills, confidence & outlook to succeed in their career.
