Story

I am running 7 marathons in 7 consecutive days and because that's not physically or mentally tough enough, I am also running them in 7 different locations across the whole of the UK, just to make it a logistical nightmare too.

I have even persuaded seven of my friends and family to come along with me for the ride. Five of the seven have never run a marathon before and so this will be an incredible challenge for all involved.

The line-up for the 7 marathons is as follows:

Sun 18th Oct - Edinburgh - Chris Keenan

Mon 19th Oct - Yorkshire - Alex Cridge

Tues 20th Oct - Loughborough - Ross Angus

Wed 21st Oct - London - Emma Long

Thurs 22nd Oct - Brighton - Harry Boother

Fri 23rd Oct - Bournemouth - Tom Long

Sat 24th Oct - Devon - Sarah Long

(Note these locations are subject to change pending COVID restrictions).

So why am I doing this? It is all to raise money for an amazing charity called Kingston Carers' Network (KCN). I have volunteered with KCN for around a year now and so I have seen first hand the incredible work which they do.

My role has been to mentor a young carer and to assist with the charity's youth club and summer school but KCN do so much more than this. They provide support to all carers in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and they are the only organisation of its kind to do so.

KCN improve the lives of carers who provide unpaid care to someone who could not manage without them by providing support, information and advice to improve physical and emotional well-being. As a result of their caring responsibilities, many carers experience a decline in their own mental and physical health and KCN works to minimise this.

Here's what your money can do:

- £15 can pay for one hour of mentoring support to a young carer

- £50 can pay for five young carers to enjoy a respite activity.

Your donations and words of support will keep me going when I'm struggling and asking myself why on earth I ever thought this would be a good idea.

Please do spare whatever you can - It really does make all the difference. Also if anybody fancies joining me on some of my journey (Even if it's just a mile!) then let me know and I'd be honoured to have you along!

Thank you.
