Story
The recent conflicts in Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq have displaced so many people. Fathers, mothers and children have fled some of the most oppressive regimes simply to try to survive.
I recently saw this photograph of a Syrian Father and his children arriving in Europe having survived at sea for days. The relief in his tears as he embraces his children made me realise how lucky we are that we have never had to face such circumstances.
I don't believe we can stand back and simply watch this happen. Which is why I'm supporting Refugee Action.
Refugee Action helps people who’ve survived some of the world’s worst regimes to find the basic support they need to live with dignity. Then they make sure they have the opportunity to build a safe, happy and productive life.
Those of you who know me well will know I've only started running this year. The maximum distance I've run is 10K (twice!). A half marathon (21.1Km) won't be easy for my glass ankle, arthritic knee and dodgy hip. Couple with my love of food, drink and relaxation this is going to take plenty of hard work, but I'm determined to do this.
If you can't sponsor me then please at least pray that I'll finish in one piece!
If you think every refugee deserves a chance to live again, please support me and help raise vital funds for refugee action.
Cheers
Dan
