RECORD BREAKING EVENT FOR CHARITY
The aim
Our aim is to raise £5,000 for St Michael's Hospice. We have specifically
chosen a smaller charity as these tend to be the ones that receive the least
amount of support. It is an especially hard time for all charities at the
moment, and we believe in setting an example to the rest of the community by
raising funds.
The record
At the time of writing, we are in the process of applying to the Guinness
Book of Records to set two records:
1. The most amount of continuous consecutive punches
2. The longest continuous martial art tuition (over 24 hours non-stop)
The event
The event will take place in the Bromley School on the 24th and 25th April
2010. It will start at 10amon the 24th and finish after the Grading session
on the 25th April (around 6pm).
More details about the school and the event can be found on our
website:www.JulianHitchMASE.com
The Charity: St Michael's Hospice
The Hospice is a charity dedicated to providing specialist end of life care
and support in Hastings and Rother to local people and their families,
friends and carers. It offers a wide range of high quality services that
are adapted to meet an individual's needs. These include not only in-patient
care but also hands-on nursing support in someone's own home on a 24 hour
basis. Day care, counselling and bereavement support are also available.
Last year the hospice gave care to nearly 400 in-patients, provided over
3,500 hospice at home visits and over 3600 booked day therapy attendances.
St Michael's Hospice is heavily dependent on the generosity of individuals,
companies and local organisations. The Hospice is greatly appreciative of
fundraising support, as less than 30% of its total funding comes from the
NHS.
