Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page
*** Update 11/7 ***
I'm delighted to say that today I completed the Triathlon in 1 hour 29 minutes and 8 seconds, of which I am extremely proud. The race went well and I was the only competitor who's supporters had a brought along a banner (Thanks to Catherine, JJ and Isaac!).
I've uploaded a few pictures to the site although be warned the sight of me in a lycra suit may take a bit of counselling to get over!
The results of the Triathlon should be on the website listed below from the evening of the 11th July
A big thanks to all those who sponsored me and to those who came along to support (and laugh at my tri suit) it's much appreciated!
*** Update 06/07 ***
Just a quick update on my progress:
Training is going well, apart from a few technical problems with the bike (some fool ordering tyres that were too small for the rims...) and i've completed quite a few bike to run sessions to make sure I stay on my feet as apparently it's not uncommon for people to fall over when going from the bike to the run. Also I have now received my start time which is a rather antisocial 08:05 on Sunday, looks like I'll have to get a really early night on Saturday!
I'll post some pictures later in the week and i'll let you know how I get on in the event on Sunday
As some of you may know I am aiming to complete my first Triathlon in July this year and the event i've chosen is the Three Spires Event in Lichfield (http://www.chaserace.co.uk/). The event is classed as a 'Sprint' Triathlon but there is no sprinting involved, what is involved is a 400m swim, 20k cycle and 5k run! Given my love of socialising and extremely injury prone feet this has proven quite a challenge and I have been training hard to make sure that I complete the course
The reason for undertaking this is to raise awareness and money for a charity that is extremely close to my heart. The charity in question is Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research who do great work in researching and supporting those affected by Cancers of the Blood.
For more details of the great work they do please visit http://www.llresearch.org.uk/en/1/about.html
Any donations and support will be greatly appreciated and i'll update the page to let you know how I get on
