Story

The Ernest Read Symphony Orchestra (ERSO) was founded in in 1931 by Ernest Read, a renowned pioneer in musical education. Children's concerts and providing developmental opportunities for young talent are at the heart of what we do and follow directly from Ernest Read's legacy. We have big plans to celebrate the orchestra's 90th birthday and Ernest Read's massive contribution to music education. An intrepid ERSO cycle team - including yours truly! - will be taking on the Prudential Ride London-Surrey on 4 August, 2019. We're training hard for the gruelling 100-mile route from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, through the City and out to Surrey. The challenge includes testing ascents of both Leith Hill and Box Hill. before a return to London and a finish on the Mall. This race is not for the faint hearted, so please support me. Any donation, of any size, would mean a lot to the orchestra and the young musicians we work with!
