In August 2016 my mum received the terrible news that she had been diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer - a rare and fast growing form of cancer. The following 18 months were tough and she underwent a schedule of aggressive treatment. The NHS were remarkable, acting quickly and decisively from the very first moment. Because of their actions, the support of other patients and incredible charities, like Cancer Research UK, she made it through and received the 'all clear'. 

Sadly cancer is an all too familiar story for a lot of families and not everyone's experience has a happy ending. So this year I will be taking part in my first Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge, along with my teammates at Nigel Wright. We're raising money for Cancer Research UK, a fantastic cause that continues to make a difference to so many lives. We'll be covering a hefty 24 miles and climbing the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. All under 12 hours, which will be rounded off with a pint or two in the pub!
