Story
On 15th May we shall both be running in the Manchester 10k hoping to raise as much money as possible for Epilepsy Research in memory of our friend, Lee, who passed away suddenly in his sleep on December 12th 2010. Dan knew Lee for as long as he can remember and both grew up on the same street in the village of Collingham, West Yorkshire.
Lee epitomised all the qualities one would wish for in a friend and his memory shall forever be preserved in the strong bond that remains within our friendship group despite the fact that we no longer all live in that same village where we all shared our pre-university years.
Lee suffered from epilepsy and although, as his close friends, we all knew he took medication to control it, his condition never prevented Lee from partaking in the football and cricket matches in the teams many of us played in together from the ages of 6 until 18 nor any of the numerous quality nights out we had both at home and abroad in Marbella and Ibiza.
Lee was a football nut - especially when it came to Leeds United - something Claire and Lee would share much banter about when she arrived on the scene from Doncaster! And inevitably Dan's most treasured memory with Lee was playing on the same side at Elland Road where Lee managed to bag 4 goals to Dan's 1! Following that game Lee and Dan as 13 year olds stood on the Kop at Elland Road and vowed to watch Leeds United from there together, something we later did on numerous occasions.
