Story
Last year my family and I suffered the devastating and sudden loss of Jo. My auntie. One those unique kind of people who was the life and soul of anyone's party. Jo was diagnosed with Lung Cancer on the 17th March 2012, her decline was rapid, painful and completely out of the blue. Although Jo battled bravely, we sadly lost her on the 27th July aged just 43.
During this time, Jo and our family were assigned a Macmillan Nurse, Anna. Anna was a constant source of reassurance, information, and advice for both Jo and her family, consistently going above and beyond her job role in supporting us all.
It is Anna, Jo and the daily battles that those affected by cancer face that have inspired me to raise money for Macmillan. I want to give something back and hopefully help others suffering with or affected by this nasty disease have the same invaluable care that we received, because I know first hand the importantance of Macmillan's work.
