Story
Following the initial postponement of the Tŷ Hafan Cambodia trek in March 2020 due to Covid, I'm so happy to say THE CAMBODIA TREK IS FINALLY HAPPENING!!! 3 years down the line and I'm buzzing that I can finally honour the incredible donations I received from everyone in preparation of challenge - all in aid of Tŷ Hafan.
On October 21st 2023 I'll be flying to Cambodia with a fabulous group of other fundraisers to trek 79km from Siem Reap to Angkor Wat over 5 days.
I'll be trekking in aid of Tŷ Hafan, Wales’ children’s hospice
Tŷ Hafan is a charity that offers comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families in the hospice, in the community and in their home so they can make the most of the time they have left together. It also offers parents and carers the opportunity to relax and recharge their batteries, as well as making sure that needs of the brothers and sisters are never forgotten.
I was fortunate enough to witness some of the wonderful memory-making at the hospice having worked there for two years. I met such extraordinary young people in the process whose stories and circumstances inspired me to take on this challenge. I'm fundraising & taking on this (pretty gruelling challenge) to make even the tiniest bit of difference to help these life-changing services continue.
What lots of people don't realise is that Tŷ Hafan relies on donations to fund the £5.6m it takes every year to open the doors of the hospice, with very limited government funding.
Any amount that you can give would make such a difference and would be HUGELY appreciated as I take on this (slightly terrifying) challenge (that not even a 3-year delay can quite prepare you for...)
Thanks so much for your support!
