Story
I have been lucky enough to gain a charity place to run the 2023 London Marathon in aid of Evelina Children's Charity. The London Marathon has always been something I've wanted to do and an event that has forever inspired me. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to run it in April 2023 for such an incredible charity.
When I was 18 months, I choked when eating an apple. I was rushed to hospital and spent the next week in ICU as the apple had made its way into my lung. Fortunately, I was too young to remember this, although difficulties continued throughout my childhood. I made several trips to a children's hospital in London to have procedures in my throat to overcome the breathing difficulties that I was experiencing after the event. These trips and long operations will always stay with me but have made my family and I extremely grateful for the compassionate care that these doctors and nurses selflessly provided myself and many others. The difficulties that I have endured throughout my life after the traumatic event have never held me back and stood in the way of my sporting successes.
As a teacher, I am passionate about caring for children, helping them grow and being the best versions of themselves through their own journeys and difficulties that they might face. I am so thankful for my wonderful class and supportive parents who are helping me fundraise for this amazing cause.
I would be so grateful for any support that you are able to offer, no matter how big or small. I am looking forward to the challenging few months that lie ahead and to share this journey with you all.
