Story
I’m still serving with the Army and I’m an on-call Firefighter, I’ve seen first-hand how mental health has an impact on people’s lives.
I too have struggled with mental health and what to make a difference and help as many people as I can.
I’m walking home for mental health and telling my story along the way. Along the 480Km route I’ll be living and sleeping rough, I’m hoping to achieve this in 10days. At the end I’ll talk to my family and friends and share my story which I’ve never done before, they don’t know half of my struggles.
My plan is to walk from my current home in Carver Barracks in Essex to my home Village, Brotton in the Northeast. This will take me 10 days, covering 48Km a day, with only a backpack with just the basic necessities. I’ll have no food and no water so I’ll be reaching out and asking people for their kindness and generosity, hopefully showing by just talking, you can get the help you need.
