Fundraising for Dandelion Time
Six months ago I attempted to run a mile, but was shocked that years of being a sedentary office worker meant that this had become a challenge. To atone for my years of sin drinking heavily and eating kebabs, I thought I would target a marathon to get back on track; something I had always wanted to do. And if fellow Geordie icons Tony the Fridge and Jimmy FiveBellies can do it then so can I!
The charity that I have decided to support is Dandelion Times, a small charity based in the heart of Kent. Their main aim is to provide support to troubled children between the ages of 7 and 16 through the use of farm and craft activities to provide a theraputic setting. Many of the children have suffered physical abuse, domestic violence or neglect and become isolated often developing a number of physical and emotional disorders. This unique charity helps these children overcome these issues to help overcome past suffering and provide them with a positive path to follow, They aim to improve each child's emotional wellbeing and resilence so they are better able to lead full lives and be a positive force in their communites as they enter adulthood. I aim to rock and roll around Liverpool to support those whose lives have been rocked themselves.
