Story
This year I’ll be taking on a huge challenge: 4 routes up Mount Snowden in 4 days to raise money for the Lily Foundation, which funds research to find a cure for Mitochondrial Disease.
Despite the physical trial, this will be particularly special for me because it’s something that I very nearly lost out on ever being able to do. When I was 19 I was involved in a serious car accident; I broke my neck, my back, and took a hangman’s fracture (there is a 95% chance after such an injury that you can never walk again). I only just managed to work my body clear of the wrecked car before it burst in to flames and exploded.
To be able not only to walk again, but to take on this challenge to raise money for people who need help and support is incredibly important. Please give generously.
