Story
Twelve-year-old Dana Johnston from Sutton is fundraising to pay for a life-changing Cerebral Palsy treatment in the USA which will hopefully allow her to walk independently for the first time in her life.
Dana dreams of an independent life and of pursuing her ambition to become a lawyer, but without the Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy operation she will need support in every part of her life and may not realise her dreams.
Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy will release the stiffness in her legs and give her permanent flat feet. This will help her sit, make transitions between postures, and her standing and walking will also improve. The operation has a 100% success rate and Doctors expect Dana will be able to walk without any assistive device which will dramatically improve her standard of living.
Anyone interested in helping the Dana's Walk To The Stars Appeal is asked to contact Caudwell Children on 01782 600114 or to donate online visit www.justgiving.com/danaswalktothestars
Important note to donors: As long as Dana requires the funds raised to pay for treatment in the United States, Caudwell Children will manage all payments of funds for the family. Should there come a time, for whatever reason, that Dana no longer requires the funds raised for medical treatment and living expenses while in America then the monies raised will be used to provide similar donations to sick and disabled children living within the UK through the charity, Caudwell Children.
