Save The Children operates a number of highly regarded projects in Mongolia which are hugely beneficial to the local population. In 2008, they helped to improve the quality of education for 12,125 pre and primary school children by training 485 preschool teachers in child-centered teaching methods. They also enabled 2,593 poor, nomadic, minority ethnic and disabled children to go to school by setting up kindergartens and providing mobile teachers. Working with a local partner, they provided direct services for 709 disabled children. And more than 2,000 disabled children benefited from training and information they gave to their parents and carers.
Mongolia is a fantastically vibrant country but has much work to be done to allow its people to live healthy and educated lives. Working with charities such as Save The Children allows us to make a direct contribution to these efforts.
