Story

Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 25 August 2012 a few mates will be riding from Newport to Brecon in an attempt to raise some money for help for Heroes. Whilst it’s probably not challenge of the year, the leader of the ride has a history of back operations making this a serious challenge indeed.

At just 28 years old, he has a dynamic stabilisation at the L4/5 and L5/S1 levels. There are four dynamic spring rods holding his joints apart which are held in place by six screws. His consultant described it as a small hydraulic project.  It has taken a number of operations to get him to this stage, each one more painful and risky than the last. He is now at a stage where he can ride a bike and wants to undertake this challenge to raise some money for Help for Heroes.
