Story
I run for myself. I run for my well being. I run to make myself feel healthy, vital, alert and fit and I run barefoot to connect to the earth. But now, I have an opportunity to run for something other than myself. On 25th May I will run 26.2 miles barefoot for the children of Conakry Refugee School and their future well being.
In 2019 Bridgnorth Lions announced a major expansion to the popular 22 mile Bridgnorth Walk by adding a Marathon for runners. The event was judged by runners to be challenging but rewarding, as the route took in some of the most beautiful Shropshire countryside, including a visit to the top of the 1770 foot high Brown Clee.
This year, l am going to run the whole 22 miles to raise funds for school meals at CRS. The marathon will take place on Monday 25th May 2020. I aim to raise £1,500 towards school meals. For some pupils receiving a hot school meal means that they can attend school that day rather than try and earn the money for food. For all of the pupils, it helps them concentrate and make the most of their education.
