Story
I am running in the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon to raise money for Prevent Breast Cancer.
We all have a story to tell about Cancer, and how it's impacted our lives and the lives of those we love. Me personally, I lost my Mum to Breast Cancer in 2019 - she was 51. They say time heals all wounds, and to some extent, that's been true. However, one of the hardest pills to swallow is knowing that had the Breast Cancer been spotted earlier, diagnosed sooner, and treated faster, she might still be here.
That's why I'm raising money for Prevent Breast Cancer. They do amazing work, such as funding ground-breaking research solely aimed at the prediction and prevention of breast cancer. They promote early diagnosis, healthier lifestyles, and work together with others to influence change in breast cancer services.
I appreciate that right now, my timing of asking for donations is difficult. So any donation, small or large, would be hugely appreciated. Every penny is a small step closer to helping more people identify, prevent, and save those affected by one of the most common cancers on earth.
Thank you
The challenge

The Charity
Predict. Prevent. Protect. You could call it our mantra. As the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, we’re committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, we’re focused on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, we believe we can stop the problem before it starts. And being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, we’re right at the front-line in the fight against the disease.
