Story
On December 26th 2019 at 10:53am, our little boy Phoenix was born 10 weeks premature weighing only 2lbs 12oz. Over the course of the next 53 days, Phoenix went on to be cared for by the brilliant staff in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
For me, I won’t ever be able to thank the staff enough for what they’ve done for my son. But I’m hoping by raising this money, I can help future premature babies and parents get the support they need, through what is a considerably difficult time.
I’ve chosen to fundraise for Bliss because there are more than 100,000 babies born needing neonatal care every year and I want to make a difference to them. Every donation that’s made to this page brings Bliss closer to ensuring that every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life. Bliss does that by supporting parents to care for their babies, campaigning for better neonatal care and enabling life-changing research.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. All donations are hugely appreciated and will go a long way to helping future premature babies.
