Story
On the 29th April, my friends and I will be running the Chester half marathon for the British Heart Foundation, a charity that means a lot to so many people.
I am taking part in this in memory of my Dad, Mal Parker, who tragically passed away after a heart attack whilst taking part in a charity rowing race on Chester’s River Dee in 2012.
Since then, my family, friends and I have worked with the British Heart Foundation numerous times and I hope that their work will prevent other families having to face similar tragedies.
Dad was someone who was determined in everything he did and inspired and supported me every day, and this event will be an opportunity for me to make him proud. My Dad will always be missed and I know he will be with us every step of the way as we try to raise as much money as possible to help ensure that any undiagnosed heart problems are recognised before it is too late.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page and any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Dan
