I will be taking part in a charity bike ride from London to Paris in aid of CARE International. This challenge will take 5 days as I will be riding over 300km travelling through Calais, Abbeville, Beauvais and Paris. I have a real passion for helping people so when I found out about the London to Paris bike ride it was a challenge I couldn’t refuse. I aim to raise over £2000 to help support the vital work CARE are doing in over 80 countries. This would enable CARE to help schools in India by providing training and support for teachers, as well as teaching materials allowing children to receive their basic right to education. (A small portion of the funds raised will be used to provide support for my cycle ride).

It is well known that all over the world people are living in poverty. Every minute a child dies from a lack of safe water or sanitation. CARE International do some amazing work in poverty stricken areas where clean water, food, hygiene and education, things we all take for granted, are considered a luxury.

When disaster strikes, CARE International are one of the first on the scene to offer the local community the help and support it so greatly needs at such a devastating time. They stay long after the cameras leave to ensure the community recovers for the future and implement plans and defenses to reduce the risk of it occurring again. Syria is currently the most dangerous place to be a civilian and CARE has been working to support refugees and civilians since the crisis began.

This is why CARE International is a very special charity. It is a charity that shares the same dream as me. A world without poverty and injustice!
