Story
At the age of 12 my junior school part funded ski lessons at Sheffield dry ski slope. Numerous carpet burns later I fell in love with a sport that would shape my life forever. Skiing in the Alps wasn't viable for a lad from Sheffield at the time so I didn't ski on snow until I was 23 years old. That’s why I’ve chosen to fundraise for Snow Camp who, since 2003, have been turning young lives around with the power of snowsports!
Snow Camp are a ground-breaking youth service for organisations across the UK. With their year-long three-stage journey delivered at indoor slopes and the snow-capped peaks of the alps, Snow Camp break down barriers and broaden horizons for young people who desperately need the positive opportunities they provide. Through their accredited journey of courses, in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers in London, the Midlands, the North-West and Scotland, Snow Camp harness the power of snowsports to raise aspirations & develop life key skills, confidence, self-esteem, qualifications and vocational opportunities; with positive apprenticeship routes available for young people who complete the full programme journey.
