Story
Thanks for taking the time to look at our fundraising page.
We are both taking part in the Greater Manchester Marathon, which has always been an ambition of ours, and with it being the Olympic year is an excellent opportunity to promote sports, good health and well-being, and we foolishly think we will be fit enough to do it! Dan has pledged to give up his main nutritional source - jaffa cakes - and Brendan has even promised to wake up before 11am routinely, for a change!
As part of our training, on November 20th 2011 we participated in the Heanor 10k run and finished with a respectable time of 47mins 24secs, and we will be part of the Blackpool Half Marathon in March aswell.
We are raising money for the The Christie Charity, which has been pioneering cancer research breakthroughs for over 100 years and is the largest cancer centre in Europe. Based in Manchester, with radiotherapy centres in Oldham and Salford, they are a national specialist treating 25% of patients from around the country. Cancer is a subject close to our hearts as members of both our families have battled with the disease, and we would be massively appreciative of any donations, whatever the amount, for this great cause.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
